PALTIEL (păl'tĭ-ĕl, Heb. paltî’ēl, God delivers)

The son of Azzan from the tribe of Issachar, he helped in the division of the Promised Land (Num.34.26).The man to whom Saul gave Michal, David’s wife (kjv has lit., Phalti, in 1Sam.25.44 and lit., Phaltiel, in 2Sam.3.15).



PALTIEL păl’ tĭ el (פַּלְטִיאֵ֖ל, God’s deliverance). 1. A prince of the tribe of Issachar; son of Azzan (Num 34:26). He assisted Eleazar and Joshua in the distribution of the territory W of the Jordan when the ten tribes were ready to settle there.
